Student Council

The West Valley Elementary School Student Council is composed of student officers and classroom representatives. In the Fall, West Valley students elect officers. These officers include the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. In late Fall, the students of West Valley elect officers for the Spring semester. Also twice per school year, each classroom elects a classroom representative and classroom alternate. These students are responsible for reading the minutes of each meeting to their class and taking the ideas of their class to each meeting. The student council decides the content of one school wide assembly and the themes of the school spirit days (Crazy Day, Bubble Gum Day, etc.). They also purchase gifts to honor teachers on the Day of the Teacher and sponsor a gift collection during the winter holidays. Miss Watanabe, Ms. Uchiyama and the Student Council meet at lunch in the GLC throughout the year.
