Home: School Programs: Project Cornerstone

Project Cornerstone's mission is to train and mobilize adults throughout Santa Clara County to intentionally work to develop healthy, caring and responsible youth. At West Valley, we have implemented Project Cornerstone's Asset Building Champions (ABC) program. The goal of the ABC program is to teach our children skills that they can use today and throughout their lives to help them deal with peer pressure, building and keeping friendships, making healthy decisions and solving problems. By sharing these concepts in class, we create a common language and vocabulary about these issues for the entire school. Each month, parent volunteers meet as a group to review the story and lesson plan they will present the following month. All parents receive a letter at home describing the lesson of the month, so they incorporate the common language into their homes. If you are interested in helping, please contact Soma McCandless.
