What should I do if my library book is overdue?

What should I do if my library book is damaged?

If your library book is damaged, you should return it to the library as soon as possible and let the librarian know what happened. The book will be checked and repaired, if possible. You should not try to fix the book at home, because the library has special supplies for fixing books the right way. If the book is damaged beyond repair, you will be asked to pay for the book so it can be replaced.

How do I borrow library books?

The Circulation Desk is located in the Library. You can't miss it. The staff there will be able to help you check out books.

How many books can I check out?

First through fifth grade can check out two books. Kindergarteners can check 1 book out, however the book stays in the classroom. Books are due two weeks from the checkout date.

What are my responsibilities when I checkout library materials?

When you check out a library book, you make an agreement to return library materials on-time. You also agree to take care  of   library materials so that they will be in good shape for the next user. The staff understands that things happen and are always  willing to work with you in case materials are late or are in some way damaged. Remember that these materials  are purchased with YOUR tax dollars. Treat them as  if you bought them yourself!

Where do I return materials?

You should return materials to the Circulation desk in the slot marked "Book Drop". Please check materials to make sure that you have  not left anything  important in the books that you checked out. You would be surprised at the things we have found inside of returned materials!

What if a book is not on the shelf or the library doesn't own it?

If a book is not on the shelf, check with the staff. They can tell you if it is checked out or missing. If the book is checked out, you will need to check back after it is due.  If the library does not own the book, you may suggest the title for future purchase.

Are there any jobs open at the Library?

Volunteers are always welcome. If you have any time to give, we have jobs large and small, depending on the time you have    available. Children love to have their parents and their friends' parents around the  library to help them.
