Disaster Preparedness PlanThe district maintains a continuing plan to provide for student safety when school is in session. The school staff is prepared to make prompt and responsible decisions in any situation that could threaten the safety of students. The decision to close schools before the regularly scheduled closing time will only be made due to an emergency, such as fire, earthquake, or severe storm. Evacuation will take place as soon as it appears safe to do so. Children will be released only to their parents or to an adult designated on the child's enrollment card. If a major emergency occurs when schools are in session, information will be broadcast to parents over local radio stations, KXRX, 1500kHz, 1370 kHz; and the local television station, KNTV, Channel 11 (cable channel 3). If an earthquake occurs while your child walking to school, your child should continue to school. If your child is walking home, then your child should continue walking home. Please become familiar with the following procedures. We rely on your support of the emergency plan we have in place at Stocklmeir.
An earthquake can occur at any time. The best way to stay safe is to be prepared! |
