Stevens Creek is one of the schools in the Cupertino Union School District, a district committed to the development of an inclusive, caring educational community in which each individual has an equal opportunity to achieve his or her potential.
We hope this overview of Stevens Creek School is informative, and we encourage you to call or visit the school if you have questions or comments. We value your input and participation.
Program Description: The purpose of this program is to build a positive and caring school environment through the use of positive and engaged adult role models. The use of these books provide an opportunity to keep our dialogue open and effective. We seek to prevent negative behaviors, promote positive behaviors (and decision making), and teach kids to bounce back from adversity!
There are three sets of books that span a three year cycle. Next year, we will be beginning the Year 3 books for the first time. Then, we will return to the first set of books from Year 1. By revisiting past books, we reinforce the language and ideas that were taught at a younger age. The children, who have become more mature and experienced over the time lapse, find that they relate to the same stories and ideas on a much different level.
