School Site Council
The Regnart School Site Council (SSC) consists of 4 elected
Regnart parents, 2 members of the teaching staff, a classified
staff representative and the Principal. The task of this council is to
examine existing instructional
programs
and try to enhance them; to
refine and improve the School Based Coodinated Plan; to conduct a needs assessment;
to identify critical needs; and to approve a SIP
budget in support of these goals.
SSC encourages
active parent involvement both in the classroom and in the planning process.
SSC members are elected in the spring of each year for a two year term.
Any parent or community member
may be a candidate for the School Site Council. All meetings are open and
parent participation is invited. Meetings are held in the Office Conference
Room (OCR).
The School Improvement Program (SIP) is a state-funded program intended to
provide funds to be used for individualized instruction to meet the needs of each student.
The fund amount varies from year to year because it is based on the number of students
enrolled in October of the previous year, as indicated on the state CBEDS report.
Instruction is planned and carried out as provided for in the Regnart School Plan. The
School Plan is developed jointly by the community and staff and is approved by the School
Site Council. The plan describes the priorities, goals, objectives and activities the
students, staff or parents will meet during the school year.
The School Priorities for this year
are:
- Continue to examine writing at all grade levels. Develop a consistent writing program
that integrates writing into science, math, social studies and reading.
- Increase student and teacher access to technology while integrating it into all
curricular areas.
- Implement the new Social Studies textbook.
- Implement the Promotion/Retention and Diagnostic Assessment Tools.
- Pilot Standards-Based Report Card.
