This page is just an introduction. You can listen to Gator tell a little about avatars and why we use them.  How cool is he?

Take a look at the 3 types of avatars on the right, each is created by a different web site.  Each site has lots of choices, male-female, eyes, hair, clothes, accessories,etc. Each is also a little unique; M&M’s is obvious; Wild Side lets you mix human and animal parts and WeeMee are just little people with lots of cute options.

The steps involved in creating an avatar for you will be:

1. 1.On the “Create your Avatar “ page  you will choose one of the sites. (Note: This is designed to work in the GG Computer Lab, if your screen is less than 1000 pixels in width,the create page may not work)
   

2. 2.Using one of the Avatar create  sites (they will appear once you click on the name of the site you want to use), go through all the steps to create your avatar; IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO CLICK  SAVE , I’M DONE OR FINALIZE WHILE CREATING YOUR AVATAR!!!
   

3. 3.When you have completed your avatar, use the Mac screen capture (Apple-Shift-4) to take a picture of your avatar,  it will automatically save it on your desktop. You may then name your Avatar and move it to the Avatar folder in your room folder. You can review this process by looking at the “How to Save your Avatar” page
   

Feel free to experiment with all the sites on the Create Your Avatar Page and try different ideas until you find one that you think fits your personality. If you took the screen capture of an Avatar and want to do a new one, just drag your old one into the trash and start over. Above all
